The Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 is a mid-range SoC designed to provide balanced performance and power efficiency for smartphones and tablets. Announced in September 2015, it is built using a 28-nanometer process technology, which delivers reliable performance for everyday tasks and moderate multimedia use.
The Snapdragon 617 features an octa-core CPU configuration with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores, divided into two clusters. The high-performance cluster is clocked at up to 1.5 GHz, while the power-efficient cluster runs at up to 1.2 GHz. This configuration ensures smooth multitasking and efficient power management, suitable for a variety of mobile applications.
For graphics, the Snapdragon 617 integrates the Adreno 405 GPU, which provides solid performance for casual gaming and multimedia. The GPU supports modern graphics APIs and delivers smooth visuals and responsive rendering, enhancing the overall user experience.
The chipset includes the Qualcomm X8 LTE modem, supporting Cat 7 speeds with download rates up to 300 Mbps and upload rates up to 100 Mbps. This ensures fast and reliable mobile internet connectivity. Additionally, the Snapdragon 617 supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and Quick Charge 3.0 technology, which allows for faster battery charging.
